Spartans: What is Your Profession!?

I love the movie 300, it really paints a vivid picture of proper team work, preparation, and the determination to stand in the face of true adversity.

Luckily, none of us are likely to be in that type of “life/death” situation.  But that doesn’t mean we can’t learn a thing or two from men in history who have stood before unimaginable odds and won.  Or people who had given their lives for a greater cause.  The training…  The Dedication of a cause bigger than oneself is so completely awe-inspiring!

Which is another reason I love Greek/Roman History and Mythology.  Between Greece and Rome was, at the time, the Pinnacle of Civilization.  They had Scholars, Free Thinkers, Artists, Entrepreneurs, Aristocrats, Dirty Politicians and even Entertainment from Lions in the arena to Actors in the theater.  Freedom allowed them to create that world and some of the greatest men emerged from this era.  Not only in Mythology but also in actual history!

Among these were the mighty Centurions.  These were the fiercest of warriors in Rome and most feared in the world but also the most admired!  The only way to attain a Centurion Commission was through blood, sweat, and tears.  They led at the Front of the battle with Strength, Integrity, and Honor.

Their lessons are not dead today but in fact, live on throughout history.  A Centurion was a leader of men with the highest of morals, the strongest principals, and unmatched self-discipline.  And there have been a lot of them over the years.  Some have made huge impacts on how a few thousand, while others changed the course of our entire world!
We should all learn to lead with integrity, strength and honor because at the end of the day, we are the ones who have to sleep with our decisions.  Learn from Great Men in our History…  Live out those lessons…  Enjoy Your Life.

Satisfy your curiosity and learn what it really takes to be a Centurion in Today’s Society!
