Traffic: The Life Blood of the Internet
One of the BIGGEST questions asked by new Internet Marketers is, “What is the Quickest Simplest Way to get visitors to my site?”
That question in and of itself says that you have a product to promote, the website is ready, and the only thing I’m lacking is the Traffic. You see Traffic should be the last thing a new or old Internet Marketer should be worried about.
As Traffic may be the life blood on which your business relies upon, you definitely shouldn’t be worried about it until after you are an affiliate or have a product of your own to sell them.
Then your web copy needs to be done and be able to provide them with valuable reasons on why you are the solution to their problem. Then the web page needs to be set up and proper SEO done, on-page and off-page.
So now I’m going to assume that you have done all of that since you are still reading this and haven’t closed this window out, scurrying back your browser fixing the things you left out. If you haven’t done these things then please continue reading but you are going to need to understand that this is the last step in the process.
So on with the Answer to one of Biggest questions asked today by New Internet Marketers
One of the first things to understand is, in order to have a website that people will want to keep returning to, you need to gear it towards a specific group of people wanting a specific thing, this is called “targeting.”
Then you need to make sure you have some solid information that changes frequently but is still relevant to your target audience. If you are using a sales page then have a blog that people are introduced to After the Sales process is over. Not before or during, otherwise people may leave your sales page never to return and you just screwed yourself out of money! Now, the Relevant but continuously changing content will take care of people getting back to your site. Still you need to know how to get them to your site in the first place, right?
One sure fire way to get people to your site is PPC (Pay Per Click) and is easily set up for autopilot. Google offers great PPC campaigns but you need to make sure you have done your Keyword Research Properly, otherwise you are going to loose a lot of money by sending irrelevant visitors to your site. (You see why this is the last thing you should worry about yet?)
I’m not going to cover Keyword Research in this Article because at this point you should have already done it! Another way you can get people to your site is, by starting a JV (Joint Venture) with some other Affiliates. A JV is an agreement between you and one or more persons that you will give them a certain percentage of the revenue their traffic generates for your product.
JV Partnerships are very powerful, if you have the right people, it doesn’t cost you any money out of your pocket… it just takes a bit off the top of the actual revenue for your product. With some very powerful affiliates helping you out, you can easily expect to see an increase in traffic seemingly over night without you doing anything!
Now the ways to get traffic to your site which I have talked about so far cost you money, either up-front out of pocket or off the top of the sales your site makes. How about some FREE Traffic? Yeah, I thought you would get excited over that!
One way to get Free Traffic is through Social Networking. Social Networks offers a great way to get people to your site. You simply create a profile and then go around through the forums & groups making friends and leading them to your site or blog in a way that isn’t pressured. Once you pressure people, your chance of actually getting them to your site severely diminishes.
Another way to get Free Traffic to your site is through good SEO. Now, if you don’t understand SEO then you are probably going to need to do one of two things… Hire an SEO Expert or buy a product that teaches SEO. Either way, SEO isn’t exactly free but can give you more visitors on autopilot than anything else!
SEO stands for Search Engine Optimization, which means your website is optimized for search engines to view and rank it according to the relevancy of your site to your keywords. (Again, see why this is the last thing you should worry about?) Search Engines rank websites according to a variety of different things. Two of them are the relevancy of the words searched for and the amount of incoming links called “back links.”
Back linking is also another story for another time but basically you can get other websites to host your link for either a small cost or a trade of links (called link exchange).
So, to Sum things up really quick, Traffic is the last thing you should worry about but there are even more ways than what I have described here to get traffic to your site. The less Traffic costs the more time consuming it can and will be. The more it costs the less time consuming it will be. Most people either have more money than time or more time than money.
I hope this helps in your search for Traffic and I truly wish you the best of luck learning how to Make Money From Home. This can be a lot of fun but you have to treat this as a business.
Take care and I’ll be seeing you around!
